Playing with toys.

We unloaded the Log splitter today. What fun :-) I spent an hour or so splitting logs and we are well set up for the next week or so. I have been trying to upload a photograph of the log splitter but seem to have a problem so will try later. It is an Ozzito and works really well. We are very happy with it. Since we had such a good supply of chopped wood the Gorgeous Boy decided to light the wood fired oven. Roast Pork for dinner. Delicious as usual. Thank you Darling :-)

With the dry weather lately and the wind the gardens are drying out quite quickly. I'm back to watering which I don't really mind as it is very relaxing (unless I think about all the other things I should be doing.

I did take lots of lovely photos of the snow peas and broad beans but I can't seem to upload those either. Must just be my night!!!!! Think I may just call it quits for now and try again tomorrow.

  1. Good to hear you are so pleased with your log splitter. Stop mentioning that wood fired oven. I am soooo jealous. I want roast pork right now!
Yes, yes, it is getting rather dry again isn't it. Hope people wise up to conserving water again because I have seen little evidence of water conservation in our neck of the woods.

  2. All your talk of the log splitter brought back some wonderful memories for me of times spent with my family splitting logs for the winter for our wood stove. Ahh bliss . . . no longer have a wood stove, but wish I did. Your roast pork sounds good, and it's breakfast time here!

  3. Mariana...we are so lucky to have a couple of natural springs on the property and have pushed in two extra huge dams in the last few years so we have a plentiful supply of water. I still survive on rain water for the house so am very mindful of our water use which helps when we are down in the city. I too see little conservation of any of the resources we are privilaged to have here in Australia. I think that people will never really take heed until it is too late but thats a whole other issue....don't get me started on that one!!!!!!

Marie, isn't it lovely when someone mentions something that triggers wonderful memories...your recipes often do that for me so I am pleased that I have been able to return the favour :-)
